Lead Worker - Parks

Member of MPSTMA for 4 years.

In my position as Lead Worker for parks, I am involved in all aspects of Parks maintenance.
My main duty is the care of the turf grass on the athletic fields and primary parks; which includes
the fertilization, weed control, aeration, over seeding and irrigation management. I also oversee the
maintenance and installation of planting beds, park amenities, playground structures and park buildings.
I also deal with the tree issues throughout the City.

I feel that the MPSTMA is a great group of professionals and being able to network with them can only
help in continuing to gain knowledge in the field.  I also feel that I might have some knowledge to share
that may be beneficial to the Association.

What issues should MPSTMA focus on for the future of the association?
The biggest issue to continue to focus on should be the safety of our parks and sports fields.
It is important for the users of facilities to not have to worry about their safety during use.
We should also focus on trying to make recreation opportunities accessible to everyone.
